What better way to open a school than to showcase the talented performers at Weiss High School. Weiss Theater students involved in performance classes will debut their audition monologue repertoire during this special event. This will be a laid back evening of theater where the audience may come and go as they wish.
2017-2018 SEASON
This year's musical will start a school wide tradition for decades to come. All students at Weiss High School will be eligible to audition for the musical. The Weiss fine arts staff will select a musical in early fall of 2017. We will post audition notices & materials all over the school and on this website. We will be looking for student performers, technicians, and musicians to create a successful production. We encourage all students interested in being a part of the musical to come to auditions and try it out.

UIL ONE ACT PLAY
The University Interscholastic League hosts the biggest One Act Play competition in the United States here in Texas every spring. Most of the high schools in Texas are involved in this competition. This audition will be open to all Weiss High School students. The Weiss Theater director will post audition dates and materials in December or January each year. UIL rules allow each school to cast up to 15 actors, 5 technicians, and 4 alternates depending on the needs of the production. UIL One Act Play is a highly competitive and highly rewarding experience.

The Spring Play will be full length play that will be chosen by the theater director in early spring semester 2018. The auditions for this play will be open to all Weiss High School students. We will post audition information for this production around the school and on this website.
